What the visitor sees
A text area and four numbers: words, characters, characters without spaces and reading time. Nothing else. It is deliberately smaller than the full tool, because anyone who needs sentences, paragraphs, keyword density or platform limits follows the credit link, and that is the whole arrangement.

Licence and attribution
The widget is free to embed on any site, including a commercial one. Three conditions, and they are the whole licence:
- The credit link Word counter by WordBench stays visible. Do not hide it with CSS, do not shrink it below the surrounding text, and do not move it out of the frame.
- The credit link stays a normal, followable link. Do not add
rel="nofollow",rel="sponsored"or a redirect in front of it. - Do not present the widget as your own tool, and do not re-host its code on your own domain.
That is the entire deal, and it is deliberately the only thing WordBench asks anyone for. There is no advertising, no email capture and no paid tier.

Does it track my visitors?
No. The widget sets no cookies, loads no analytics and makes no network request after the page loads. Text typed into it never leaves the visitor's browser, exactly as on wordbench.app itself. That means you do not need to mention it in a cookie banner.
Can I change how it looks?
You can set the height and the theme with URL parameters, and you can size the iframe to your own container. You cannot remove or alter the credit link; that is what pays for the widget.
Will it slow my page down?
The widget is a static page with no images, no web fonts beyond the ones the browser already has, and no third-party scripts. Load it lazily with loading="lazy" on the iframe and it costs nothing until it scrolls into view.
What happens if WordBench changes the widget?
Changes are listed on the changelog with a date. The embed URL and its parameters are treated as a stable interface: parameters get added, never removed or repurposed.
